You'll be asked to bring a flower or flowers to be used in the ceremony. If you have a special object, perhaps from nature, feel free to bring that to also be included in the ceremony. You may, if you wish, bring an intention of what you'd like to release and/or increase in your life; it's also powerful to come to the ceremony being simply open and without expectations.
When you arrive, a ceremonial area will be ready for you - a dish of water, condor feathers, your flowers, some herbal incense*, a stone or circle of stones set out on a beautiful cloth. If you have anything you want to tell Helen before the session, there is time to do so. You'll remove your shoes and step into the ceremonial area and stand* for the session. For the next 15-30 minutes, Helen will use each of the elements to gently cleanse and balance the elements and energies of your body. Flowers or fresh aromatic herbs, carrying the energy of the earth, are used to sweep over the body and energy field. A fine mist of herbal water is used to further clear and balance. Feathers sweep and recharge the energy field, breaking up stagnant energies and taking them away. Incense or a candle flame is moved around the field to purify and clear. An essential oil is applied to energy points on the body, carrying the energy of Ushai, the energy created when the other four elements come into balance. Sound is woven throughout the session. Humming, singing, the unique sounds of different instruments, all create a waterfall of sound energy to further cleanse, balance and harmonize. Each ceremony is totally unique and created for your needs and energies in that moment. When the ceremony is completed, you'll step out of the ceremonial circle, and can silently give thanks to the elements of nature and instruments used for your session. You're encouraged to take a few moments in silence to enjoy the effects and changes in your energy. If you have any questions, or want to share any aspect of your experience, Helen is available to do so.
*Note: for those with special sensitivities to incense, fragrances, pets or anything else - please tell Helen in advance, and adjustments will be made for your comfort.

In many cultures, energy balancing is a regular part of life. Having an energy "tune-up" is always beneficial. In the course of daily life, we're always picking up stress and energies that aren't harmonious for us. It just makes sense to do things that restore balance and harmony.
Energy harmonizing ceremonies are particularly helpful at times when one is feeling stuck in some way, or when an issue seems not to change even with repeated efforts on your part.
They are also a wonderful way to be in harmony and your best for a special event - such as getting married, starting school, a creative project or business, or beginning a family.
Energy harmonizing is also a way to help create the inner balance that makes it easier to walk your spiritual path, be at your creative best, and just to feel at ease and happy.

Helen, as a child, immersed herself in nature, playing with the wind & water, loving the fire, the earth, the trees, dancing with the falling autumn leaves. Reawakened to this intimacy with the elements by her ongoing apprenticeship with Taita Iachak Alverto Taxo, she has had the opportunity since 1999 to study with him both in the US and in Ecuador. Through Taita Iachak, Helen also met and has continued studying with Oscar Santillan and his brothers Guillermo and Rumi Santillan, the transformational Andean musicians known as Pakarinka Sisari. During three trips to Ecuador, she spent time with both Taita Iachak and Pakarinka Sisari, visiting sacred volcanoes, hot springs, waterfalls, cloud forests, developing a deepening friendship with the elements and energies of these beautiful places, and learning to play and make some of the Andean instruments. She now helps to arrange US engagements for both Taita Iachak Alverto and Oscar Santillan, and leads trips to Ecuador to study with them. Helen has also compiled, edited and illustrated two books with Taita Iachak, An Invitation to the Andes: Entering the Wisdom of the Condor (2002), and Friendship with the Elements: Opening the Channels of Communication (2005) (www.ushai.com/book.html).
Helen is also an accomplished musician and songwriter, playing flute, harp and singing on recordings of her own original music (Darkening of the Moon (1999) and O Spirit (2000) and that of her husband's, Laz Slomovits of Gemini. (www.geminichildrensmusic.com). To order Helen's music contact her at:
