As children, many of us were friends with the sun, wind, stars, and water. A special stick or stone found felt like a great treasure. A crackling fire was alive as it danced in a fireplace or bonfire. Trees were special companions. And we were a part of it all. Lying on the ground, watching the clouds drift by, we naturally felt held by the earth. Watching sunlight on the water, the playfulness and changing beauty was an implicit mirror of our own inner beauty and delight. Yet, for many of us, these connections and friendships faded into the background or were lost as we grew and became adults. We forgot the delight and the harmony of being connected to the elements of nature.
An energy harmonizing ceremony is an opportunity to once again feel that friendship with the elements, and the well-being and harmony that comes from having the elements within our own bodies come into balance. It's also a chance to release energies we've accumulated that don't serve us. Throughout time many cultures developed ceremonies using symbolic representations of the elements — feathers, stones, herbs — for healing and balancing. Through her own growing friendship with the elements, and her apprenticeship with Taita Iachak Alverto Taxo of Ecuador (www.ushai.com), Helen follows in this tradition of using flowers, water, feathers, flame or smoke, and essential oils to balance and harmonize the elements and energies of the body.
Helen also uses sound as a powerful cleansing and harmonizing force. Each ceremony includes a unique combination of Andean flutes, pan flutes, drums, rattles, as well as celtic harp, song pod, flute, conch shell and voice woven throughout the session. Her connection to the Andean instruments and their use in energy harmonizing has grown through years of studying and playing music, both in Ecuador and in the US, with Andean musician and healer, Oscar Santillán.
